Wicked the Game.

Wicked: The Game is an exciting matching puzzle game based on one of the top musicals of all time! Each challenging level you win unlocks another chapter of the untold story of the witches of Oz. Move the magic energy through the map, free the magical objects and find out the untold story of the Wicked Witch before Dorothy comes dropping in.

The game is published by 505 Games US and is available to play for free on Facebook, Google Play and Apple Appstore.

Wicked: The Game controls and gameplay are very much similar to puzzle games of the same genre like Bejeweled, Candy Crush and Moshling to name a few. The game features beautiful graphics, and an awesome story line that gradually unfolds as you go further into the game. However what separates Wicked: The Game among the other match-three games are the level design. Wicked: The game features large scrollable levels that increases in complexity as more and more features of the game is introduced.

Notice the screen capture above, it shows the whole level map, you start at the top (the green square) and you have to work your way down towards the exit at the bottom. You move by matching tiles and destroying blocks creating a way for the green liquid to move towards your target destination.

Moving trough the map is not very simple either, especially in the later levels when many of the obstacles has already been introduced. Obstacles like the bubbles that you have to pop first before clearing the tile, jail cell that contains unmovable tiles and more! Being able to scroll trough the map and collapsing tiles and affecting a lot of tiles in the map adds a whole new depth to the game play.

The level above  took me days to finally be able to beat, and I the feeling when I was about to  move the final tile that will complete the level is pure AWESOMENESS. There are boosters in the game that you can unlock to help with your progress, but I recommend trying to finish  all the levels without relying on the boosters, that is if you really want the challenge.

The map style of Wicked is pretty much the same as the Candy Crush saga level map, but this time you do follow the yellow brick road. You can see your friends, their level and how well they did on the levels.

I recommend Wicked: The game to all Match-Three game enthusiast out there. The game employs all the familiar features of the genre making the game very easy to start with but becomes challenging and complex as you move along. With the new game mechanic and wonderful storyline combined making Wicked the game a very enjoyable and fun game to play for many many hours.

You can play the game now on Facebook, or  download the iOS  version from the appstore.
